School of Theology Education & Arts(TEA)

The School of Theology, Education and Arts concur with Thomas La Mance that “The man who has no inner life is the slave of his surroundings.” On this basis, the School having a strong evangelical traditions delights in variety of programs designed to offer a holistic education that challenges the mind, morals and the whole person. Integration of faith and learning build into our programmes is the vehicle that ensures the development of character, accountability and skills that are relevant to today’s changing world are evident in our graduates.

Objectives

The School houses theology, Education & Arts whose objectives are listed below:
Theology
• To equip students with the knowledge of the Bible (the inerrant word of God), sound interpretation of the scriptures, and application of the same in teaching, preaching, and living as of supreme importance.
• To inspire students in their quest for a life-long transformative relationship with God. We believe education must result in changed lives.
• To give a strong theological background to students so as to be able to respond with practical love and care to people in society by ministering in loving compassion to their total needs-spiritual, social, emotional and physical. We aim at producing pastors, Christian educators, missionaries, counselors, chaplains etc with compassion for the world.
• To prepare the student to be able to present a reasoned defense of the faith.
Education
• To train qualified Arts and Science teachers for secondary and tertiary institutions, who have strong Christian foundation.
• To prepare student teachers holistically for active career in all facets of teaching profession.
• To develop the capacity building of student teachers to teach effectively at Secondary School and tertiary levels.
• Equip students with knowledge, skills and attitudes for effective instruction in Arts and Science subjects.
• To provide a basis for graduates to pursue further studies or advanced training in both professional and academic areas.
