Kenya Model United Nations-Kabarak University Chapter

The KMUN Kabarak Chapter has been involved in various activities in the past year, namely;

The 2nd KMUN Kabarak Chapter Dinner, Waterbuck Hotel 5th December 2008. (The Millennium Development Goals)

Upendo/Hudson Children's Home visit on 20th July 2008.

The 1st KMUN Kabarak Chapter Dinner at Waterbuck Hotel, Nakuru 11th April 2008. (Ushering in the World Day On Health And Safety at Work)

The 7th Annual KMUN conference, UN Gigiri 3rd to 7th March 2008.

Currently running projects include;

Sensitizing students on the Millenium Development Goals.

The student-corporate partnership building.

Future activities;

The 8th KMUN Annual Conference, Gigiri Early March 2009.

The third mock debate to be held at Strathmore University on 27th February 2009.

Kabarak Chapter allocated countries to be represented at the 8th Annual KMUN Conference scheduled for 23rd-27th March 2009 :

Barbados, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Ecuador, Iceland, Portugal, Qatar, Republic of Korea(South Korea), Romania, Slovenia and Zimbabwe.

The Gigiri Conference will be a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly. Delegates will discuss issues affecting the world such as the;

i) Global financial crisis.

ii) Humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe and Gaza.

iii) War on Gaza

iv) Terrorism- Mumbai bombing.

v) Food insecurity.

vi) Climate change.
