The
SIFE Kabarak team was formally launched in 2004 and carries out outreach
projects in The University and surrounding community. It has also formed
partnership with international partners such as SIFE-University of Tulsa,
USA. |
Our Projects
For the year 2007-2008, SIFE Kabarak has been involved in projects that
aim to empower the community on importance and value of free enterprise.
An Example is Project Aloe Vera situated in Kampi ya Moto area about
20 KM from Kabarak University.
The project
aims to enlighten an identified group of 100 unemployed youth on the
value of commercial farming of Aloe Vera plant in the area. Recently
a team of 20 SIFE members volunteered to train the youth on planting,
maintenance, and harvesting of the plant.
Most of
the then unemployed youth have now taken up the initiative and started
commercial farming of the plant. This has led to not only employment
creation but also income generation.
SIFE Kabarak has endeavored to empower the community
with its theme being "Helping Others Help Themselves through Free
Enterprise"
