Enactus Kabarak University has emerged as the National Champion at the Enactus Kenya National Expo 2026, held at Graceland Resort Hotel, Nairobi, on 21 and 22 August 2026.
The team presented “Circular Economy: Waste to Wash,” a project that turns discarded cooking oil into affordable washing soap. The initiative tackles the environmental problems caused by improper disposal of used cooking oil while creating a useful product for households.
The Kabarak team, led by Faculty Advisors Dr. Ezra Kipchirchir Ronoh and Mr. Shadrack Koech, competed against 12 other university teams and emerged first, ahead of St. Paul’s University and Mount Kenya University.
The winning project now takes Kabarak University to the Enactus World Cup in São Paulo, Brazil, in November 2026, where the team will present “Waste to Wash” on the global stage.
The achievement is a proud moment for Kabarak University and its students, who continue to turn practical ideas into solutions for real community challenges.
Congratulations to the Enactus Kabarak team. We wish you all the best in Brazil!
