Kabarak University hosted a team of library staff from Daystar University, led by Jane Yobera, University Librarian at Daystar University, for a benchmarking pre-visit to the University Library.

The team was received by Kabarak University Librarian, Mrs. Patricia Chebet, who welcomed them and led them on a tour of the Daniel T. Arap Moi Library. The visit provided an opportunity for the two university libraries to share experiences and learn from each other regarding library services, facilities, digital resources, and support for teaching, learning, and research.

Kabarak University Library is a world-class learning resource centre providing access to both print and electronic information resources. Its electronic library gives students and researchers access to e-books and e-journals through platforms including Emerald, JSTOR and Wiley Online, alongside services such as the online library catalogue, institutional repository, information literacy and research support.

The visit also comes ahead of the 2026 Kenya University Librarians Committee (KULC) Consultative Workshop, which Kabarak University will host on 16th and 17th September 2026 at the Main Campus. The workshop will bring together heads of university libraries from across Kenya to discuss key issues affecting university libraries, including the operationalisation of the revitalised KULC, the KULC Constitution and policy framework, alignment with Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET), AI in library services, and strategic collaboration.

The Daystar University team's visit provided a useful opportunity to prepare for the wider professional engagement and collaboration that the KULC workshop will bring to Kabarak.
