On Friday, 13th February 2026, we welcomed a team from Oracle Academy for a productive visit aimed at strengthening academic partnerships and exploring collaborative opportunities that will benefit both students and staff.
Lorna Juma, Program Manager for Oracle Academy Africa, was received by our Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry K.Kiplangat, alongside Prof. Peter Rugiri, Dean of the School of Science, Engineering and Technology (SSET), and faculty members from the School.

During the engagement, both parties discussed a range of potential areas of collaboration, including follow-up training workshops, the possibility of co-hosting hackathons, and organizing campus engagements designed to raise awareness about Oracle Academy and its offerings. These discussions underscored a shared commitment to empowering students with industry-relevant skills in computing, software development, and emerging technologies.
A representative from Oracle Academy expressed enthusiasm about partnering with the School of Science, Engineering and Technology to advance capacity-building initiatives, hands-on learning, and practical exposure aligned with global standards. The visit also provided an opportunity to explore how Oracle Academy resources can be integrated into both classroom instruction and extracurricular activities to enhance technology education and innovation on campus.

For its part, Kabarak University reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening industry-academia linkages that expand student opportunities, promote experiential learning, and position graduates for success in competitive technical fields. The discussions set the stage for future engagements expected to deepen collaboration and create meaningful learning experiences for the University community.
The visit forms part of the University’s broader strategy of engaging reputable partners to enhance its academic programmes and nurture a new generation of technology-savvy graduates.
