KUSO Leaders Attend the African Youth Leadership Forum

On June 6th, 2023, the Kabarak University Students Organization (KUSO) sent a  delegation of its esteemed leaders, including Karen Birech, Juma Eugene, Linus Moreka, and Gibson Kipruto, to participate in the highly anticipated African Youth Leadership Forum at Nairobi Safari Park. This event was a chance for them to break free from their usual surroundings at Kabarak University and explore new perspectives.

One of the most memorable moments of the forum was attending the National Prayer Breakfast under the AYLF card. The keynote speaker spoke about the theme of reconciliation, and his words resonated with the KUSO leaders. He reminded them that feeling pain is a sign of being alive, but feeling the pain of others is what makes us truly human.

Following the National Prayer Breakfast, the KUSO leaders traveled to Lukenya Gateway in Machakos for two days. This was an incredible opportunity for them to network with fellow university leaders from across Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan, DRC Congo, and Burundi. They exchanged valuable information on how to improve their leadership skills and create a better future.

During their time at Lukenya Gateway, the KUSO leaders were mentored by CEOs, COOs, entrepreneurs, and members of parliament from the National Assembly. These mentors challenged them to broaden their minds and try new things, such as volunteering for organizations that align with their interests. This allowed them to acquire new skills and knowledge that will undoubtedly help them in the future.

KUSO would like to express their gratitude to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat, PhD, MBS, OGW for giving them this incredible opportunity. They promise to share their newfound skills and knowledge with fellow students at Kabarak University to help shape the future leaders of tomorrow.
