On 18th June 2026, Kabarak University hosted a two-member delegation from the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) for an on-site verification exercise under the East African Community (EAC) Scholarship Programme.
The visit, held at the University Boardroom, followed Kabarak’s application to host international postgraduate students under Phase II of the programme. It began with a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat, before moving into a working session with university leadership drawn from Postgraduate Studies, Quality Assurance, Research, as well as Deans and Heads of Departments.
Two postgraduate programmes were shortlisted for the verification stage: the Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and the Master of Science in Physics. The university presented supporting documents covering curriculum details, faculty profiles, assessment policies, accreditation records, and admission procedures for international students.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the delegation and noted that hosting EAC scholars would give the university a chance to work more closely with students from across the region and strengthen academic exchange on campus.
The team also toured key facilities, including the Nutrition and Physics laboratories, lecture halls, library, ICT centres, and student accommodation. Attention was given to student support services such as the Dean of Students’ office and health services, as well as hostel facilities set aside for international students.
The visit wrapped up with a closing discussion on research collaboration, industry linkages, and inclusion within the programmes. The delegation noted the preparedness of the university throughout the exercise.
