As part of its commitment to supporting academic excellence and student success, the Kabarak University Library conducted a library orientation and information literacy session on Friday, 19th June 2026, for first-year Bachelor of Pharmacy students.
The session was organised in collaboration with the teaching staff as part of the University's Communication Skills course, in a strong partnership between the Library and academic departments in delivering holistic university education.
During the interactive training, students were introduced to a wide range of library resources and services designed to support their academic journey. The session focused on equipping learners with practical skills to access, evaluate, and effectively use both physical and digital information resources available through the University Library.

Students received hands-on guidance on navigating the Library's online platforms, electronic databases, scholarly journals, e-books, and other digital research tools. They were also familiarised with the various services and learning spaces available within the physical library, enabling them to maximise the resources at their disposal throughout their studies.
The training aimed to strengthen students' information literacy competencies, an essential component of academic success in higher education. By empowering learners to independently access credible and relevant information, the Library continues to play a critical role in fostering a culture of research, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.
The session forms part of the University's broader efforts to enhance student learning experiences through collaborative initiatives between academic units and support departments. Such engagements ensure that students are well-equipped to meet the demands of university education while developing the skills necessary for professional and personal growth.
