Kabarak University Holds First Wednesday Chapel Service of the Semester

Kabarak University today held its first Wednesday Chapel Service of the semester, bringing together students, staff, and members of the University community for a time of worship and spiritual encouragement.

During the service, Rev. Justus Mutuku delivered a sermon centered on the theme “God is Dependable,” drawn from 1 Kings 17:1–6.

In his message, Rev. Mutuku encouraged students and staff to remain steadfast in faith and trust in God despite seasons of uncertainty and change. Using the story of Elijah, he reflected on how God remains faithful even when human systems, visible support structures, and personal circumstances appear uncertain.

He emphasised that while people often seek stability and security in worldly systems, true dependability can only be found in God, whose character and faithfulness never change. Drawing lessons from Elijah’s journey, the sermon challenged the congregation to move forward in obedience, confidence, and trust in God’s provision and guidance.

The sermon further emphasized the importance of faith during difficult moments, reminding students as they begin a new semester that challenges and uncertainties should not discourage them from pursuing their purpose and calling.

The service concluded with a message of encouragement from the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat, who urged students to remain focused, resilient, and grounded in faith as they pursue their academic journey throughout the semester.

As the first chapel service of the semester, the gathering also served as a moment welcome for both continuing and new students as they embark on a new academic season.
