We officially marked the opening ceremony of Cultural Week 2026, ushering in a week-long celebration of heritage, diversity, and unity within the University community. The event, organized by the Kabarak University Students Organization (KUSO), is taking place from 9th to 14th March 2026 and brings together students and staff from diverse cultural backgrounds to celebrate their traditions, values, and talents.
The celebrations were formally inaugurated by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Henry Kiplangat, who presided over the official opening ceremony. In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor commended the student leadership for organizing an event that highlights the rich cultural diversity within the Kabarak community while promoting unity and mutual respect among students.

He noted that cultural celebrations are essential in nurturing understanding and appreciation of different traditions, while strengthening the sense of belonging among students from diverse backgrounds. The Vice-Chancellor further emphasized that Cultural Week reflects the University’s commitment to holistic education, one that not only prioritizes academic excellence but also promotes cultural awareness, creativity, and community engagement.
Held under the theme “Proud of Our Roots: Unity in Diversity,” Cultural Week 2026 offers students an opportunity to proudly showcase their heritage while learning about the traditions and customs of others.
Throughout the week, members of the Kabarak fraternity will take part in a wide range of activities, including cultural exhibitions, traditional performances, music and dance presentations, cultural attire showcases, and culinary displays featuring dishes from different communities.

The week’s programme also features themed activities such as cultural interviews, photoshoots, sports and recreational engagements, and exhibitions that highlight the richness of different cultures within the University community. The celebrations will culminate in a Grand Cultural Gala Night on Saturday, bringing the week’s festivities to a memorable close.
The Kabarak University Students Organization has encouraged the entire Kabarak community to actively participate in the various activities planned throughout the week and embrace the spirit of unity that defines Kabarak University.
Cultural Week remains one of the highlights of student life at the University, reinforcing its commitment to building a vibrant community grounded in respect, diversity, and shared values.
