The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)

Clinical Officers Council

The Clinical Officers Council (COC) is a body corporate under an Act of Parliament, Act No.  20 of 2017 Laws of Kenya. In accordance to this Act, COC mandate is to regulate training, registration, licencing and practice of all Clinical officers.  The Council was first established in 1988 through an Act of parliament Cap 260 Laws of Kenya which was repealed in 2017. AIC Kijabe Hospital

AIC Kijabe Hospital was established in 1915 as a small outpatient clinic within the grounds of the Rift Valley Academy and was originally named Theodora Hospital.  Today, governed under the Africa Inland Church (AIC) – Kenya, it is a tertiary teaching and referral facility as recognized by the Government of Kenya under Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentists Board (KMPDB). Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI)

The 9th Parliament, after 3 years of debate enacted the Nutritionists and Dieticians law in october 2007. The bill has been authored and sponsored by Hon. Julia Ojiambo - then a NARC nominated Member of Parliament on Parliamentary approval - the act was assented into law by the former President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Hon. Mwai Kibaki on the 22nd October 2007, thus making Kenya the first country in the region of Africa to enact such an important law in the field of Nutrition & Dietetics. Subsequently, the then Minister for Medical Services - Hon. Prof. Anyang Nyong'o - gazetted the act on 30th October 2008.
