Kabarak University Chapel Service Highlights Impact of Marsabit Mission Outreach 2026

Faith took on a practical meaning in Loglogo, Marsabit County, where students and staff from Kabarak University brought together evangelism, healthcare, legal support and community engagement during the Marsabit Missions Outreach 2026.

The impact of the mission was shared with the University community during the Chapel Service on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, through a presentation reflecting on the outreach held from 23 to 31 August 2026. Guided by the theme “Christ the Hope of Glory,” drawn from Colossians 1:27, and the slogan #InukaAngaza, the mission demonstrated how Christian faith can inspire service to communities.

The outreach brought together 125 missioners, comprising 103 students and 22 staff members, who worked alongside the host church, AIC Loglogo. Their activities combined evangelism and discipleship with medical services, legal aid and community engagement, providing practical support while strengthening relationships with the local community.

Reaching Communities Through Evangelism

According to the report presented during the Chapel Service, the spiritual ministry reached 20 villages and 310 homesteads through door-to-door evangelism, preaching, crusades, discipleship and school ministry. The team recorded 284 people accepting Christ, reflecting the outreach's central focus on sharing the Christian message and nurturing faith.

The mission also provided opportunities for students and staff to engage directly with the community, building relationships and learning from the experiences of the people they served.

Medical Services and Health Education

Healthcare was a key component of the outreach. On 27 August, the team conducted a medical camp supported by 12 healthcare professionals and 20 student volunteers from the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the School of Pharmacy.

Services included medical consultations, vital-sign screening, treatment, pharmacy support, health education and referrals. The initiative extended healthcare support to the local community while giving students an opportunity to apply their training in a community setting.

Legal Aid and Community Engagement

Law students also contributed by providing free legal information and guidance on civil and criminal justice, alternative dispute resolution, community land registration, female genital mutilation (FGM) and early marriage.

Engagements with community members and AIC Loglogo Primary and Integrated School further addressed issues relating to child welfare, conflict resolution and career awareness. These activities broadened the mission's impact beyond spiritual ministry, responding to practical concerns affecting families, learners and the wider community.

Lessons for Future Missions

The report highlighted the importance of sustained community relationships and continued collaboration with local churches, healthcare facilities and community structures. It also outlined challenges encountered during the mission, including long distances, rough roads, high temperatures, limited water supplies and language barriers.

The University expressed appreciation to its Management, Chaplaincy, sponsors, partners, well-wishers, AIC Loglogo, the Marsabit community and all the missioners whose contributions made the outreach possible. The presentation also recognised the mission as an expression of gratitude to God and a practical demonstration of the University's Christian values.
