A targeted capacity-building session has been conducted to strengthen institutional performance and reinforce quality management practices at Kabarak University through its Directorate of Quality Assurance and Institutional Planning.
The training brought together newly appointed process owners and key members of staff, creating an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the University’s operational framework, performance expectations, and quality standards. It was designed to equip participants with the practical knowledge and skills required to manage institutional processes effectively, align departmental activities with strategic objectives, and uphold a culture of excellence.
Participants were taken through key aspects of performance contracting, with particular emphasis on aligning individual and departmental responsibilities to the University’s Strategic Plan. The session underscored the importance of accountability, efficiency, and results-oriented management as essential drivers of institutional success.

A strong focus was also placed on internationally recognized quality standards, particularly ISO 9001:2015. Staff gained deeper insight into how quality management systems support continuous improvement, enhance service delivery, and promote consistency across academic and administrative functions.
The training further highlighted the value of standardized procedures within the institution. Participants explored the importance of structured, well-documented processes in achieving operational effectiveness and sustaining high performance. The interactive approach encouraged engagement, reflection, and knowledge sharing, fostering a collaborative environment for continuous institutional improvement.
As an ISO 9001:2015 certified institution, Kabarak University continues to invest in staff development and quality assurance initiatives that strengthen its mission of delivering holistic, value-based education.
