Governance Structure
The Centre for Multiple Systems of Justice (CMSJ) is guided by a structured governance framework that brings together academic leadership, coordination roles, and student participation to support its mandate in Alternative Justice Systems (AJS) and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
The leadership structure provides strategic direction, academic oversight, and operational coordination for all CMSJ programmes. It ensures that the Centre’s vision and mission are effectively implemented through training, research, and community engagement activities. The leadership also plays a key role in shaping institutional partnerships and strengthening CMSJ’s academic and practical impact.
The core leadership and support roles within CMSJ include the following:
- Head of Department: Responsible for overall strategic leadership, academic direction, and supervision of CMSJ activities and programmes.
- Faculty Member(s) and Coordinator: Responsible for coordinating academic programmes, supporting training initiatives, and ensuring effective implementation of CMSJ activities.
- Graduate Assistant: Supports research activities, academic coordination, and day-to-day operational functions within the Centre.
CMSJ is also supported by a vibrant student-led governance structure that enhances participation, leadership development, and practical engagement in dispute resolution processes. These committees provide platforms for students to contribute actively to CMSJ programmes and initiatives.
The student-led committees include:
- Webinar and Conference Committee
- Moot Committee
- Community Outreach Committee
- Social Media Committee
- Partnership Committee
- By-laws Committee
This governance structure ensures that CMSJ remains both academically grounded and practically engaged, fostering collaboration between faculty and students while advancing its mandate in Alternative Justice Systems and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
