Hekima University Benchmarks Kabarak University's Online Learning Program

Driven by a commitment to continuous improvement, Hekima University, a leader in Open and Distance Learning (ODEL), recently embarked on a collaborative venture. They organized a benchmarking visit to Kabarak University's Online Department, aiming to exchange knowledge and foster collaboration in the field of online education.

A delegation from Hekima's ODEL Department, led by department head Beata Njegeh and ICT staff member Abel Kuria, arrived at Kabarak eager to learn. They actively participated in a presentation by Kabarak's Online Department, gaining insights into their online learning models, technology infrastructure, teaching strategies, and student support services. The visit concluded with both institutions expressing their commitment to continued collaboration and knowledge sharing. Inspired by their experience, Hekima University implemented several initiatives in the following months, including improvements to their technological infrastructure, the development of new online courses, and the expansion of student support services. This collaborative effort not only benefited the online programs of both universities but also contributed to the advancement of distance learning in the broader academic community.
