Professor Manji is a leading global scholar in African legal studies, governance, land law, feminist jurisprudence, and Global South legal thought. She currently holds the position of Professor of Land Law and Development at Cardiff Law School, and previously served as Dean for Africa at Cardiff University and Director of the British Institute in Eastern Africa.
This is not the beginning of our work together, but a continuation. Professor Manji has already walked alongside us in developing our Master’s Programme in Judicial Science—a major initiative delivered alongside Cardiff University, the Kenya Judiciary Academy, and the Katiba Institute.
Her arrival strengthens our core mission: to teach law from an authentic African perspective, connect our campus to global scholarship, and make Kabarak a recognized hub for Global South legal thought.
In her role, Professor Manji will work directly with our students and staff by:
- Teaching, supervising, and examining postgraduate students
- Mentoring faculty members
- Leading collaborative research projects and shaping curriculum
- Building strong international academic partnerships
We are actively building a community of sharp, dedicated legal minds.
Karibu sana, Professor Ambreena Manji. We are glad to have you with us.
