At Kabarak University, we are always proud to support initiatives that open doors for the next generation of innovators. We are excited to highlight the ENGAGE Project, a collaboration between the University of Nairobi and the University of California, San Francisco. This program offers a fully-sponsored, 10-day intensive training in Data Science and AI specifically for Form 3 girls from public secondary schools who excel in mathematics. Approved by the Ministry of Education, it is a rare chance for young students to dive into the world of tech without the burden of costs.
The training is designed to be much more than just lectures. Participants will get hands-on experience with computers, learn how to code, and discover how AI is being used to solve real-world public health problems. A highlight of the program includes learning trips to organizations where these tools are used every day, giving the girls a first-hand look at potential career paths in the digital economy. It is an immersive way to see how math and logic translate into life-changing technology.
The program runs from November 23rd to December 4th, 2026. If you know a student who would be a great fit, they can apply by visiting engage.uonbi.ac.ke, clicking "Apply Now," and selecting Tier 1. Please remind all interested students to get parental consent before starting their application. Let’s work together to share this opportunity and help our bright young mathematicians take their first steps into the future of AI.
