The Kabarak Community came together on Sunday, 21st June 2026, for a special service to rededicate the Kabarak Chapel after months of renovation, beautification, and improvements to the sanctuary.
The service was led by the University Chaplaincy and clergy, with Rev. Justus Mutuku, the Acting University Provost, leading the ceremony. It was presided over by the Chairman of the Kabarak Community and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiptiony Kiplangat.

The chapel, first dedicated to the glory of God on 14th January 1990 by Rev. Ezekiel Birech, has served as the spiritual home of the Kabarak Community for more than three decades. Over the years, it has also held a special place in the life of Kenya's second President, H.E. Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi. Whenever he was at Kabarak, whether during his years as President or after leaving office, this was where he worshipped faithfully and received spiritual nourishment. Even in his later years, the chapel remained an important place of prayer and reflection for him.
The rededication marked a new chapter as the renewed sanctuary was once again committed to worship, ministry, and service.

During the service, newly acquired worship equipment and donated musical instruments were also dedicated. Speaking to the congregation, Rev. Mutuku reminded those present that every gift offered to God carries a greater purpose.
"Once an instrument has been dedicated to the Lord, it becomes a tool of worship for the glory of God and the advancement of God's Kingdom," he said.
The day also coincided with International Father's Day, and fathers in the congregation were recognised and prayed for in appreciation of their role in their families, the Church, and society.

It was equally a memorable day for learners from Sun and Shield Primary & Junior School, who took an important step in their faith through a baptism service after committing their lives to Christ. Their public declaration of faith was a joyful moment for their families, teachers, and the wider congregation.
The service brought together staff and students from Kabarak University, pupils and teachers from Sun and Shield Primary & Junior School, and members of the wider Kabarak Community. It concluded with Holy Communion as the congregation joined together in worship, thanksgiving, and prayer.
