Kabarak University recently reaffirmed its commitment to the holistic well-being of its community by hosting a vibrant Health Awareness Week in collaboration with Dandelion Africa. The event, held from 7th to 11th July 2025, took place at both the Main Campus and the Nakuru City Campus, offering students and staff an opportunity to learn more about their health and access essential preventive services.
Throughout the week, free health checks were conducted, including breast and cervical cancer screening for ladies, HIV/AIDS testing and counseling, reproductive health education, and mental health awareness sessions. These activities not only provided participants with vital information about their health status but also encouraged them to take timely preventive measures. The Counseling Section, working closely with a dedicated team of peer counselors, played a key role in creating awareness and mobilizing the university community. Their efforts resulted in an impressive turnout and a renewed focus on personal wellness.
Indeed, health is wealth—without it, our potential as individuals and as a community remains limited. By prioritizing initiatives like this, the University demonstrates its belief that taking care of one’s health is not only a personal responsibility but also a shared value that strengthens the whole institution. We sincerely thank Dandelion Africa for their invaluable partnership and support in making this initiative a success, and we appreciate the University Management for their unwavering commitment to promoting a culture of wellness. As we look ahead, may this week inspire all of us to embrace proactive health practices and continue building a healthier, more resilient Kabarak University.
