On October 23, 2023, the Department of Spiritual and Student Affairs at Kabarak University undertook an inspiring mentorship program at Kipsogon Secondary School in Mogotio, Kenya. This event, organized by dedicated peer counselors under the guidance of Pr. Esther Kapsir and Ms. Veronica Kombchi, was a testament to the university's commitment to making a positive impact on the local community.

In a world bustling with activity, we often overlook the small pockets of hope and resilience that exist within our communities. On October 20, 2023, MASHUJAA DAY, our students had the privilege of experiencing such a pocket of hope during a visit to Israel Faith Children's Home. The Empowerment Club, Journalism Club, and KUSO partnered for an initiative to bring smiles and happiness to the children at Israel Faith Children's Home. The initiative, 'SMILE FOR A SMILE', led by Mr. and Miss Kabarak University, aimed at raising contributions in the form of dry foodstuffs, clothing, books, and stationery to support the children at the home. The heartwarming visit involved activities such as fun and games, pageantry, talent showcasing, and sharing a meal.

It was the Peer Counselors Commissioning, a significant moment that unfolded during the university's Wednesday Chapel Service. This ceremony celebrated the dedication and commitment of the peer counselors who have accepted the responsibility of providing support and guidance to their fellow students.

Kabarak University, under the guidance of the Counseling Section within the Department of Spiritual and Student Affairs, recently hosted a three-day Peer Counselors Training Program from October 11th to October 13th, 2023. This enriching initiative was spearheaded by the esteemed Dean of Students, providing students with invaluable insights into the art and science of counseling. With a diverse range of topics covered and a team of dedicated coordinators, the event was a resounding success.

In a beautiful display of solidarity and community spirit, Kabarak University joined hands to celebrate Huduma Day with Emining School for the Visually Impaired. Led by Pr. Esther, the University Counselor, and Rhoda Chemoiwo from the Procurement Department, alongside staff members from various departments, including procurement, counselors/peer counselors, the Kenya MODeL United Nations Club, and the Africa Leadership Forum, the day was filled with heartwarming activities and shared moments.
