Kabarak University, through the School of Science, Engineering, and Technology (SSET), today hosted an ICT Cybersecurity Awareness Talk led by experts from Huawei Kenya and the Ministry of Information, Communications & The Digital Economy (MICDE). The event, held at the University Auditorium, brought together students and staff for an enlightening session on the importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital landscape.
The session aimed to equip students with practical knowledge and awareness of emerging cyber threats, data protection strategies, and responsible digital practices. The facilitators highlighted real-world cases of cyber risks and demonstrated proactive measures for safeguarding digital systems and personal information.

In his remarks, the Dean of the School of Science, Engineering and Technology commended Huawei and the Ministry of ICT for their partnership in empowering students with industry-relevant skills. He emphasized that such collaborations strengthen Kabarak University’s commitment to nurturing graduates who are not only technologically competent but also ethically responsible digital citizens.
The interactive session featured discussions on cybersecurity careers, cloud security, and national digital infrastructure resilience. Students also had the opportunity to engage directly with the experts, gaining valuable insights into the evolving ICT sector.
