Worship, Culture, and Unity Mark Chapel Service During Cultural Week

A spirit of worship and cultural celebration filled the Chapel at Kabarak University today as the university community gathered for a vibrant Wednesday Chapel Service held as part of the ongoing Cultural Week.

The service offered students and staff a meaningful opportunity to worship God while celebrating the rich diversity of cultures and languages represented on campus. Through songs, prayers, and Scripture readings delivered in different languages, the congregation expressed their faith in ways that reflected the multicultural fabric of the Kabarak community. The moment served as a powerful reminder that worship transcends cultural and linguistic boundaries.

Delivering the sermon, Bishop Joshua Kimuyu shared a message titled “Grounded in the Word,” based on Second Epistle to Timothy 3:16–17. He encouraged the congregation to anchor their lives firmly in the Word of God, emphasizing that Scripture provides the guidance, correction, and instruction necessary for spiritual growth and righteous living. Bishop Kimuyu urged students and staff alike to continually rely on God’s Word as the foundation for faith, character, and purpose.

The message resonated deeply with the congregation, especially within the context of Cultural Week, as it underscored the unifying power of God’s Word across cultures and communities.

The service was graced by Prof. Rev. Jacob Kibor,  the University’s immediate former Provost, and concluded with a benediction delivered by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat.
