Higher education is undergoing a historic transformation driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI). This paper reflects on the migration of educational value from traditional universities to digital ecosystems, and proposes strategic directions for universities to remain relevant and impactful in this new era.
The Africa Youth Leadership Forum (AYLF) is inspiring a new generation of leaders in Africa through transformative programs. On 25th October 2025, the Africa Youth Leadership Forum Kabarak University Chapter (Main Campus and Nakuru City Campus) had the privilege of attending the 3rd Leadership Summit held at Mount Kenya University s Main Campus in Thika. This year s theme was Building a New Africa for the 21st Century, and the keynote speaker was the respected lawyer, Prof. PLO Lumumba.
On 21 October 2025, the Avid Readers Forum convened a thought-provoking session on Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o’s short story “A Meeting in the Dark.” The discussion was led by Narah Yegon, a second-year law student at Kabarak University School of Law, and attended by other law students and a faculty member. The session involved a collective reading of the story, with participants taking turns to read various parts aloud before engaging in an analytical discussion.
Ah! The title. “A Meeting in the Dark”, sounds like a setup for secret rendezvous, a lover’s whispers, or maybe a horror movie, though, it’s far more than some romantic cliché. The “darkness” is not just a missing bulb. It is moral, spiritual, and psychological. When John meets Wamuhu in the dark, the meeting is not only a secret but symbolic. A confrontation between tradition and colonial religion, between guilt and desire, and between two very different visions of heaven.
The Kabarak University community gathered today for the weekly Wednesday Chapel Service, a special time of worship, reflection, and spiritual renewal. The sermon was delivered by Rev. Prof. Jacob Kibor, our immediate former University Provost, who retired early last year after a remarkable 12-year tenure, earning well-deserved accolades for his outstanding humility, unwavering dedication, and tireless service to the University. He spoke on the theme God s Provision and Guidance.
Today, 14 October 2025, Kabarak University welcomed new members of staff at an induction seminar on the Main Campus. The programme was led by the Vice-Chancellor and members of The University Management Board (UMB) and attended by deans of schools, directors and heads of departments.
