First-year Students Orientation

The first-year Orientation program is a one-of-a-kind session at Kabarak University. The Program runs for a week for every intake. For September intake 2022, the university has organized the program to run from Monday the 26th to Wednesday the 28th at the university auditorium.

The program is designed to help incoming students make the transition from different cultures to the Kabarak university culture. The orientation program's impact on first-year students is measured in many ways, including the overall benefit, it delivers to each incoming freshman class.

From the past orientations, students who attend the programs gain direct benefits linked to their future at this great university. The program eases student’s transition into university life; increases comfort with interaction among peers and faculty; raises individual retention rates, and better understanding one's self as well as the perspectives of others

Early today morning Rev. Justus Mutuku set off the program handling the department of chaplaincy on matters of Faith development. Campus security came next handled by the Chief Security officer Mr. Weldon Koima. Mental health issues among students, life skills and addictions, and online learning are set to be presented today in that order.

On Tuesday, catering and accommodation, Kabarak university medical center, sports program, club and association, computer lab orientation, work-study program and HELB, student life and leadership and library orientation will be presented in that order.

To wrap it up on Wednesday the academic deans for respective schools and the management board members will grace the program for their presentations.

The orientation program is also critical in the development and acclimation of first-year students. Overall, many benefits await a student who attends this orientation program.
